Juanita, who was born in Churchill Falls, Labrador, resides in Bay Roberts with her husband Brian (from Labrador City, Labrador) and their two young children. Having relocated from one community to another with young children, she is acutely aware of the needs of families and the services they seek when they are moving to a new location.

Juanita also brings knowledge about legal terminology, which can be essential to clients buying and selling real estate. In 1996 after completing the Paralegal Technology Diploma Program at the University of Cape Breton, she was employed at a law office in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
